BILD insists in sensational appointment of German coach and SD

BILD insists that Ralf Rangnick will make a sensational move to AC Milan becoming coach and sporting director of the club.

BILD, one of Germany’s best-known newspapers, insists: AC Milan want to bring Ralf Rangnick at San Siro for next season. The 61-year-old German is reportedly AC Milan’s number one goal not only for the coaching role but also as the men responsible to restructure the entire technical-sports structure of the Rossoneri club and start a new project.

According to BILD, AC Milan initially made contacts with Rangnick in December and have continued to talk ever since. AC Milan owners Elliot are eager to bring the mastermind behind the success of the two Red Bull owned clubs, RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.

Ralf Rangnick is considered as the architect of the remarkable rise to prominence of both Red Bull-owned clubs. He served as sporting director at both clubs and coach of RB Leipzig on many occasions. Rangnick initially made a name for himself after taking Hoffenheim from the fourth tier to the Bundesliga and later was also appointed coach of Schalke 04.

Rangnick stepped down as Leipzig coach last summer and currently works as Red Bull’s head of sport and development and primarily oversees Red Bull’s teams in New York and Sao Paulo, while retaining some influence behind the scenes at Leipzig.

If rumors were to be confirmed, Rangnick would serve as both coach and sporting director of AC Milan with full power on the transfer market. To make room for him would inevitably be Mr. Stefano Pioli and the current sporting director Ricky Massara.

When asked in Janaury about the possibility of joining Milan the Germany couldn’t hide his admiration for the Rossoneri and former coach Arrigo Sacchi. “I followed AC Milan and Sacchi’s work with great attention, they played exactly the type of football that I loved and probably it is the team and the coach who have influenced the most the development of my job and my career“, said Rangnick.
